Where to start?...well firstly this makes a brilliant project for someone to enjoy and know another rare Capri is saved and back on the road!.
This is rare 1300cc MK3 Capri L trim in Venetian Red, The 'Orange Carla Check' interior trim is in surprisingly good order, including the headliner (see pics). The is a set of the lovely 'Ronal' alloy wheels fitted, as fitted to the Ghia model of this era.
Under 10 of these left and only 4 owners prior to last owner who the car came from.
The car starts first time and runs and drives, the clutch works as it should as do the brakes. The car appears to have last been MOT'ed when the mileage was on 98725 miles (now 102223) between October 2019 and October 2020 (with just three advisories), the previous MOT history does look rather good with many no advisory passes from the when the MOT system went online in 2005.
This is totally complete running and driving car, all the trim is present and it requires the usual panels replacing that Capri's do (wings, arches sills etc)...thank news is that such panels are easily available and therefore this is a very straight forward project for the right person.
One key fit the doors, ignition and boot lid. A matching numbers car and every pane of glass is etched with the registration number!.
Various parts are new/replaced, the exhaust looks fairly recent. The starter motor looks brand new, the alternator and ignition parts are look rather recent. The oil and oil look newish too. The battery is good and holds its charge. So certainly not a car that can’t be moved around easily. Just don’t except to drive her home! - the tyres are Goodyear Grand Prix S’s…so that gives you a clue of their age!
The car could obviously be checked over and used ‘as is’, however as panels are readily available and it would be easier/cheaper to replace rather than repair various panels….we feel this clearly makes best sense. The wings for example range from £150 to £250 each on eBay, most other panels are much cheap (see the seller ‘King-Capri’ for the listings). Rear arches are £42 cheap (hence it’s not worth trying to repair them)
