This is truly a wonderful example of the superb Mercedes SLK, the 4 cylinder 200 Kompressor engine is truly a peach, the fact it is married up to the 6 speed manual gearbox is even more special!. The Kompressor is actually a supercharger , which is similar to a turbo. These 163BHP petrol engine sound great and can offer up to 40MPG if driven sensibly on a run.
This R171 SLK comes with some lovely extra equipment that truly has her standing out from the rest. The car is fitted with a set of AMG alloys and excellent tyres, the metallic paint (Tellurium Silver) has a beautiful blue tint to it and contrasts ever so well with the 'Dusky Red' leather seats. This one has the upgraded sport suspension upgrade too and probably one of the nicest feature is the brilliant 'AirScarf' seat heating at neck level (wonderful for roof down motoring).
The 'Vario Roof' is a brilliant system too, the car turns into a proper convertible in just 22 seconds!, this is a metal folding roof with a rear glass screen that is heated for winter use.
The performance is very spritely as you would except from a sports car fitted with a supercharger, 0-60 MPH comes in around 7.5 seconds and the car weighs in at just under 1400 KGS.
The car has already been through our workshop and we have shot-blasted and repainted the rear subframe (these are prone to surface corrosion), so this won't require doing again. Its lovely to car a car which is soon 20 years old with an advisory free MOT. We always fully check over all the cars we sell and carry out a thorough PDI prior to them leaving us.
