This adapter plate attaches the backs in a vertical position and can be moved from side to side, allowing more of the scene to be scanned and captured. 

The entire digital image can be assembled using your computer. The slide adapter allows you to "scan" the 4x5 back so that the multiple images can be stitched together using image editing software to create one huge mega file with amazing detail and clarity! The slide plate features incremental markings to aid in positioning and a tension screw lock to hold the slide plate in place during shooting.  The adapter's “stretch” flange adjustment system allows you to release and extend the camera mounting plate up to 16mm from the slide plate. This allows you to correct and minimize any back focus that may occur, as 4x5 adapters naturally move the new film plane further away from the original film plane. This extension can also help adjust the different grip depths of different camera versions. (see picture 3)
