The Model 177 is a rugged bench-top ratemeter with a four-range linear analog display and alarm capability. It can be configured for compatible Geiger-Mueller and scintillation detectors, making it useful for laboratory counting, process monitoring, training, and fixed-station survey applications.
Detector compatibility and operating settings must be confirmed before connecting a probe. The 900 V / 35 mV setup is appropriate for many common Geiger probes but is not correct for every detector.
The original internal rechargeable battery has been removed to prevent leakage and age-related damage. The internal leads are secured. This unit is intended for standard external line-power operation unless a compatible battery system is installed and verified later.
The included report documents electronic pulse-rate and functional verification. It should not be represented as a radiation-field, exposure-rate, dose-rate, or detector calibration certificate.
These are used laboratory instruments and may show scratches, scuffs, paint wear, small dings, labels, or other normal signs of service. Cosmetic condition may vary between units, but every shipped meter receives the same functional inspection and verification.
Compatible probes, cables, and mounting clips may be available separately. When accessories are purchased with a meter, compatibility and setup can be confirmed before shipment.
The meter is guaranteed to arrive functional and ready for use as described. The 1 year functional guarantee begins on the date of delivery.
The guarantee does not cover abuse, misuse, dropping, improper storage, corrosion, unauthorized repair, tampering, modification, or damage caused by connecting incompatible equipment.
