2020 ELRICK NJS5 5-STRING ACTIVE BASS ~ TRANSPARENT BLUE

If a boutique bass builder, a stealth fighter jet, and a high-end German sports car all joined a fusion band together… this would be the result.

This rare Czech-built Elrick NJS5 is what happens when somebody wants boutique craftsmanship, ridiculous playability, modern flexibility, and enough low-end authority to rearrange internal organs within a 30-foot radius. The rare Transparent Blue gloss finish over the Swamp Ash body looks absolutely outrageous in person — especially paired with the maple fretboard, black block inlays, and upgraded natural maple knobs. It somehow manages to look classy, aggressive, modern, and expensive all at the same time.

And unlike many boutique basses that spent their lives being softly finger-tapped by jazz professors wearing linen scarves… this one was clearly owned by somebody who actually enjoyed playing it. Thankfully, it still remains in very good condition and absolutely rips.

Condition: 

She was born in 2020 and remains in very good condition with honest cosmetic wear from careful use. There is a notable ding on the back edge near the input jack, pick scratches on the pickguard, and a scuff on the back edge. The rear control cavity cover still has the original factory protective plastic installed, so while it appears scratched in the photos, the actual plate underneath remains clean and flawless if the plastic is removed. Overall, this bass presents beautifully and plays exactly like a high-end boutique instrument should.

The upgraded Bartolini B-Axis pickups absolutely transformed this thing into a monster. Tight low B, huge clarity, ridiculously smooth response, and enough tonal flexibility to cover everything from gospel and fusion to aggressive modern rock without breaking a sweat. The passive/active switching and selectable mid frequency control make this bass absurdly versatile.

And perhaps most importantly… this is NOT one of the later mass-produced Cort models. This is a genuine Czech-built Elrick NJS5 in an extremely rare finish configuration that stands out immediately from the sea of ordinary boutique J-style basses. Frankly, this thing looks like it should come with a private chef and a backstage laminate.
