This is a nice geode from the Keokuk Region, an area world renowned for it's excellent geode specimens. It is composed of an outer shell of chalcedony that has been filled with quartz crystals. Some of the crystals have a nice citrine tint to them. The crystals are well formed and have nice luster and shine. The geode is approximately 2 1/2" in diameter.

Thanks for looking.
