Righetti pitched in the Majors from 1979-1995, mostly with the New York Yankees from 79-90, winning the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1981.  He was a 2-time All-Star with the Yankees, winning 74 games and compiling 224 Saves.  He had replaced Goose Gossage as the Yankees Closer in 1984. Righetti won the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award in both 1986 and 1987 with New York, leading the AL in Saves in 1986.  He pitched a No-Hitter for the Yankees on July 4th,1983 against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.  Righetti finished up his long career with the Giants, A's, Blue Jays and White Sox, then later was the Pitching Coach for the Giants for 18 years, winning 3 World Series Championships.  He finished with 252 career Saves.
