This striking bronze sculpture captures the powerful presence of an eagle as it lands upon high cliffs above the clouds, surveying the vast landscapes below. Positioned at the ceiling of the heavens, the eagle, one of the most formidable birds of prey, is depicted in a moment of liberation from the perils of the earth. Its keen eyesight enables it to spot potential prey from a great distance, and with remarkable speed, it can leave its celestial perch, diving at 100 mph through the wild blue yonder to secure its meal.
Throughout history and across various cultures, the eagle holds significant symbolism. Representing a noble nature with its strength and aristocratic appearance, the eagle has been associated with ancient kings of Persia, Babylon, and the Roman legions. It served as the official ensign of these empires and was later adopted as a symbol by other nations, including the German third Reich and the empire conquered by Napoleon. In Christian symbolism, the eagle embodies themes of salvation, redemption, and resurrection. Additionally, in Native American spiritualism, the eagle totem is considered one of the most important animals, symbolizing the Divine spirit, clear vision, a soaring spirit, and protection against evil.
Crafted using the age-old method of lost-wax casting, this 100% bronze sculpture boasts intricate details and is stained with a brown patina finish, enhancing its depth and visual appeal. Mounted on a marble base, along with its detailed bronze plinth, the sculpture is a testament to the artist Milo's skill and vision. Milo's signature adds a final touch of authenticity to this masterpiece. The eagle, with its associations with success, prosperity, and wealth, stands as both a symbol of nature's majesty and a representation of cultural and spiritual significance.
