Summary: 1957 science-fiction film "The Invisible Boy" follows Timmie Merrinoe, a ten-year-old boy who assembles Robby the Robot using parts from a future time-travel kit. The film's plot involves the robot falling under the mental control of a rogue, evil supercomputer planning world domination.

Behind The Scenes Trivia:  Robby the Robot's appearance in the film was partly because it was so expensive to build him for "Forbidden Planet" (1956) that MGM felt obliged to use him in another project. MGM released this film, which features a sequence set aboard an Earth-orbiting satellite, in October 1957, the same month that the USSR inaugurated the Space Age by launching Sputnik.
