ANTIQUE SUITCASE SHAPED STEEL BANK ADVERTISING SAVINGS DEPARTMENT FIRST NATIONAL BANK YORK, PENNSYLVANIA WITH KEY & SLOT FOR $5 GOLD PIECE COIN & HOLE FOR BILLS
This is an antique heavy all-steel constructed suitcase shaped savings bank that dates to early 1900's by the patent date on the side. This bank advertises on a tag on the top for the "Savings Department First National Bank York, PA.". The handle on top of the bank also has the number "2163" imprinted on it. The sides of the bank have spots for all the various coins and quite interestingly it also has a slot for $5 gold coins. So cool. One side is also marked by the manufacturer, The Bankers Service Corporation out of New York and the patent number. We have the key for opening. The banks used to hold these. Bank is in good condition overall for its age with some natural wear present. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Measures about 4.5" long by 2 and 1/4" tall by 2 and 1/4" thick.
