1908 Carl Zeiss, Jena - Optische Messinstrumente (Optical Measuruing Instruments) Catalog.
4to; 64 pages.
Includes details of specialized devices for chemical and physical analysis, including :
Abbe Spectrometer: The flagship instrument for determining the refractive and dispersive power of solids and liquids. By 1908, it remained essentially faithful to Abbe’s 1874 design but included minor mechanical improvements for ease of adjustment and precision.
Abbe Microspectroscope: Designed to replace a standard microscope eyepiece, this device allowed researchers to observe the visible absorption spectrum of microscopic specimens. It featured mirrors for slit width control and could project a calibrated scale directly onto the spectrum.
