Beautiful antique Victorian embroidered silk panel, dating to circa 1900, set within an ornate gilt gesso frame.

This is a genuine period textile featuring finely detailed floral needlework in soft muted tones, displaying excellent craftsmanship throughout. The composition and colour palette reflect classic Georgian / 18th century influence, making it a highly decorative interior piece.

The embroidery is worked onto a silk ground, with visible hand or early machine stitching giving texture and depth that cannot be replicated by printed pieces.

There is a faint handwritten inscription to the lower section, though it is difficult to fully make out. It appears to reference earlier French styles, likely relating to the artistic inspiration rather than the actual age.

Condition:
• One decorative rosette is missing from the frame (shown clearly in photos)
• One corner of the frame has started to come away (see photos)
• Silk ground shows age-related wear, including discolouration, marks, and light creasing
• Some surface marks and signs of age to the embroidery
• Frame has wear and patina consistent with age

The original patina has been left untouched to preserve its authentic character.
