For his 7th album, Lyle Lovett released “Step Inside This House”.  This 1998 2-CD album finds Lovett bringing songs by songwriters who have, obviously, impressed Lovett. The list of writers include Robert Earl Keen, Michael Martin Murphey, Willis Alan Ramsey, Eric Taylor, Guy Clark, Steven Fromholz, Townes Van Zandt and Walter Hyatt.
