On offer is a used, high quality, low voltage mains transformer, manufactured by Gardners Transformers in the United Kingdom.

It measures about 2.25inches x 2.40 inches x 3.50 inches, [including the connection tags], is surface mounted and the connections are on the top panel to soldered pillars. The whole transformer is vacuum varnish impregnated, and mounting is by four screws into threaded bushes on the base.

I have no idea who this transformer was manufactured for, or what it was originally fitted to, but has the ordering code / Stock No. GR.118593 on the top panel.

This transformer is designed for a mains input of 230v @ 47 - 65 Hz. and has the option of three different output voltages, which are marked on a label attached to the top of the transformer and shown in photograph 10.

The output options are:

6.8v @ 0.24A [240mA]

6.8v @ 0.78A [780mA]

19.3v @ 0.08A [80mA]

With the transformer connected to normal domestic mains, the output voltages are shown in photographs 12, 13 and 14, as measured without any load, on a Beckman T100B DMM [for info].

These are nice transformers of high build quality designed for proper power supplies and long running time.

I have listed it as 'used' and the condition can better be seen from the photographs.
