The Awake NY x ASICS GEL-NYC is the newest member of the GEL family, designed by Angelo Baque. This colorful collaboration features a regal purple and gold colorway, signature to Awake NY's signature style. The shoe pays homage to the sporty heritage of the original GEL series with its silver mesh undersides, while also featuring premium materials like purple suede and gold accents for a luxurious feel.

The shoe is named after the city where the new style was born: New York City. When developing the design, Baque was inspired by how children around the world wear the brand's previous ASICS designs.

Baque's choice of Fluidride sole ensures that the GEL-NYC not only looks good but feels good too. The sole comes from the popular GEL-CUMULUS 16 running shoe and makes it perfect for everyday wear or a quick jog.

The upper of the shoe comes from the GEL-NIMBUS 3 from the early 2000s, combined with a touch of the GEL-MC PLUS sneaker design. The GEL-NYC has the tooling system of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 and thus offers additional wearing comfort.

A nod to the collection's heritage, the GEL-NYC combines the best of ASICS technology and Awake NY creativity to breathe new life into this GEL-based silhouette.
