Curated from an estate: charming vintage heart-shaped candy box. Very pale blush pink (almost beige) pleated satin fabric topped by clusters of tiny pink fabric roses and rhinestone trimmed edges (we note many of the rhinestones are missing--you may choose to replace them).

Large size, measuring 13.5 inches in diameter. Exact vintage not known, but we estimate 1930s. The heart shaped inner paper (that would have covered the candies) is embossed "Quality Confections."

Family-owned candy manufacturer, Just Born Quality Confections has been in business since 1923. Sam Born immigrated to the United States from France, and began introducing "French Chocolates" in New York City. The company grew through the acquisition of other candy companies, including Maillard Corporation in 1935. Maillard was known for elegant, hand-decorated chocolates. We like to imagine our exquisitely embellished box once held some of these chocolates!
