The car is fitted with a striking set of large alloy rimmed wheels with excellent tyres, these really set off the car and the previous owner paid a little over £2k for them.
This lovely example of the R230 Mercedes SL 350 from 2005 has covered 123k miles and comes with a nice service record and invoices for work beyond regular servicing.
An immediate benefit of the the 2005 model is that the annual road tax is VED Band J-K so it avoids the rather unpleasant road tax of March 2006 onwards.
It also happens to have the best engine available for the SL range due to the exceptional reliability that balances lower running costs and high performance (the M112 engine can deliver noticeably better fuel economy and lower insurance and road tax levels than the V8 model).
The driving experience is especially nice in this particular example, the lighter weight suspension components and the very strong mid-range pull from the 242BHP petrol V6 engine make this SL a delight to drive and big brakes stop the car quickly and very efficiently, the 6 speed auto box is very smooth and the very agile handling is enhanced by coil springs and avoid the costly 'ABC' suspension used on the V8's (this is worth reading up on!).
