This authentic Navajo rug handwoven in the early 20th century is a beautiful piece of American Indian craftsmanship. Made by the Navajo tribe in the United States, this rug showcases traditional regional design and is handmade with cultural significance. The intricate patterns and colors reflect the Native American heritage and cultural artistry of the American Southwest. Perfect for collectors or those looking to add a unique piece to their home decor, this Navajo rug is a timeless and authentic piece of history.

This rug was collected in the 40s and 50s by a friend who traveled around the country to collect rugs directly from the original owners and weavers.  He had a TV program in the 50s called "The Open Road with John Daggett".  He had many of these rugs and gave us one as a wedding present in 1971.  It hung on our wall for over 25 years and has since been rolled on a rod in the back of an air-conditioned closet.  It doesn't seem to ever have been hemmed or patched.  Note the photo showing the line intentionally placed there to allow evil spirits to climb off. That has always worked for us.  Measures 5' x 8'.  Weight 5#.
