Designed by H.G. Ivatt and introduced to the LMS from 1946, this 'lightweight' loco was intended for suburban passenger traffic. Eventually totalling 130 in number, only the first ten were delivered to the LMS, the remainder were produced by BR until 1952, and were initially distributed around the LMS/LM region but subsequently spread to the Southern and Western regions. Sixty of the class were fitted for push/pull working on branch lines and the entire class also undertook a considerable amount of freight duties in addition to their customary passenger role.
The model is in good physical condition, both tension lock couplings are fitted and are intact, all (unsprung) buffers are present and intact, as are the vacuum pipes, it has also acquired a footplate crew. This loco is one of the push/pull variety and is carrying the necessary paraphernalia to the left of the smokebox. Unfortunately it is missing both sets of steps from one side, but these parts could easily be fabricated.
Please note this model is NOT DCC ready and conversion to digital would be an involved process  but is possible. It runs well in both directions and is able to pull six suburban bogie coaches without an issue. It is still in it's original box with original paperwork.

Thank you for looking.
