CENTURY JAPANESE BUNSEI / MEIJI BRONZE VASE WITH LARGE DRAGONS IN CHINESE STYLE

On offer is a high
quality 19th Century Japanese bronze vase with two dragon in relief.
With seal mark to base reading ‘Dai Nihon Bunsei Nen Seimin Ju’. Translates
Made in Japan, during the Bunsei era, by Murata Seimin.
Murata Seimin
(1761-1837) was a renowned bronze caster of the time, known for his work in the
Chinese archaistic style as here. Of period (1818 – 1830) or perhaps later 19th
Century Meiji workshop in his style. Highly collectable due to name and quality
of casting.
Height 23 cm.
Weight 1.5 kgs, so note postal cost. Condition excellent with fine patina which
only comes with age. Could be used as a flower vase, or simply a striking
display piece.
