Since its establishment more than 230 years ago, the United States Mint has issued a vast array of coins with the concept of liberty personified by allegorical female figures. Throughout the decades, Liberty’s appearance and poses transformed to reflect a changing America. Although the representation of Liberty has changed over time, the values she stood for have not.
In 2015, the U.S. Mint introduced the American Liberty series which celebrates modern interpretations of American Liberty, exploring the theme beyond classical portraits of allegorical “Liberty”.
The 2025 American Liberty Medal delivers a bold representation of perseverance of American Liberty.
This obverse (heads) design features a sunflower and a bee, representing the stewardship necessary to maintain liberty. Also included on the obverse are the inscriptions, "LIBERTY” and "2025" along with a the initials of the designer “CRP” and the initials of the engraver “JPM”.
The reverse (tails) depicts an energetic and swirling depiction of an eagle as well as the inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Also inscribed on the reverse are the initials of the designer “CRP” and the engraver “EC” as well as the "P" mint mark.
This 2025 P 1oz Proof Silver American Liberty Silver Medal was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Each medal, struck from 1oz of .999 fine silver, has been certified PF70 Ultra Cameo First Day of Issue by NGC!
