Club (CUAC) trophy presentation box dated 1885, awarded to J.T.W. Perowne for the 300 Yards Consolation Race (2nd).
The lid retains its original engraved copper shield reading:

Included inside is a separate heraldic shield plate bearing an episcopal coat of arms beneath a bishop’s mitre (unmarked, likely silver-plated).

Condition:
Honest age-related wear. Surface crazing and marks to the exterior consistent with late Victorian finish. Interior silk shows staining and wear. Hinges sound and box closes correctly. Please see photographs.
