Offered here is a vintage union medal or fob from the Amalgamated Meat Cutters & Butcher Workmen of North America, featuring the inscription:

“BUTCHERS LOCAL 421”

The outer ring reads:

“AMALGAMATED MEAT CUTTERS & BUTCHER WORKMEN OF N.A.”
“ORGD. JAN. 26, 1897”

The medal has a gold-tone finish with black enamel-style lettering and a raised central panel design. A loop at the top suggests it was originally worn as a watch fob, pendant, or attached to a ribbon.

The reverse is plain with a textured finish.
