Vintage Plastic Battery-Operated Space Chase,

Made in China for Tobar, GB. EXiB.

A nice unusual vintage plastic battery-operated “Space Chase”

 toy, with a plastic winding track attached to a backplate with a

lovely 3-dimentional space scene of planets, rockets and

spaceships, 2 space vehicles including a space shuttle

and an enemy craft that chase each other down the

track, made in China for the Tobar Co. of Norwich,

England, probably 1990's or 2000’s in a

 very good original box.

The boxed toy measures around 15 inches wide by 5 deep

and 14 inches tall when assembled, and takes 2 AA batteries.

It is in excellent condition and appears to have had little use,

with few marks and a clean, rust-free battery compartment.

When switched on and the space vehicles are sent down

the track, they reach the bottom and are then “magically”

transported back up to the top of the track where they can

start again. It is a great action (presumably magnetic) and

works well as can be seen in the video. There is also a

“musical feature” advertised on the box, but it is more of

a space sound in reality. The toy comes with a very good

 original box which shows the contents on the rear, and

is marked “Space Chase”, “Tobar” and “Made in China”.

A nice vintage plastic Space toy with an unusual

action, in excellent condition with the original box.
