Offered here is an authentic Swiss-made 8 Day A-11 aircraft cockpit clock used by the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII.

• Marked “A.F. U.S. Army Type A-11”
• Swiss LeCoultre movement (see pics)
• 7 Jewels
• Longines-Wittnauer Watch Co. Inc. marked inside
• “ADJ” engraved on rear
• Mechanical 8-day wind movement

This is an original military-issued cockpit clock — not a reproduction.

The clock winds and runs. On a recent partial wind it has run approximately 5 days. It has not been tested to a full 8-day duration. Timekeeping appears steady - though it has not been recently serviced and is being sold as a vintage mechanical timepiece.

The dial, hands, and case show honest age and wear consistent with WWII-era military use. The clock is currently mounted in a custom wooden display stand which makes it an attractive desk or shelf display. The mounting appears to be a later addition and can likely be removed if desired.

The dial is correctly marked “A.F. U.S. ARMY – TYPE A-11” and “8 DAY”, indicating manufacture prior to 1947 - when the U.S. Air Force became a separate branch. This clock was designed for installation in military aircraft instrument panels and features the correct square mounting flange, crown-wind design, and high-contrast luminous numerals for cockpit readability.

The rear case retains its original screw-back construction. The back is inscribed “AJD”, which is consistent with period or post-war service or maintenance markings applied by a technician or instrument shop. Such service marks are commonly found on genuine military instruments and reflect real operational history rather than later reproduction.

This is a genuine piece of WWII aviation history, ideal for collectors of military timepieces, aircraft instruments, or World War II memorabilia. It also displays beautifully as a desk, shelf, or workshop piece.
