3 Watt LED Bulb for Maglite 2 to 6 D and C Cell Torches

The LED bulb is a premium quality universal 220 lumen 3 Watt LED bulb ideally suited for use in many torches particularly Maglite torches which have the traditional filament bulb and use the D or C size cell / battery. Whilst this LED bulb can be used in other brands of torches it is worth double checking polarity for these as it will generally work in the torches which have the batteries stacked on top of each other such as Maglite torches but less likely to work with those for example which have the square 6 volt battery or batteries side by side. The LED bulb has reverse polarity protection so no harm will be done if the polarity isn't correct for the LED bulb but it won't light. The correct polarity for this LED bulb is +ve to the base and -ve to the sides which is the typical (but not always) torch set up.


***This LED bulb has a genuine manufacture lumen rating of 220 lumens but as per usual there is a UK Ebay seller advertising the identical LED bulb with the same brightness made by the same manufacturer in the same factory at 375 lumens, their product image is also very misleading. With lumens being difficult to measure some sellers do exaggerate lumens unfortunately***

Please Note:- We only recommend this bulb for the more substantial metal type torches with a metal bulb retainer such as the Maglite range. We do not recommend this bulb for mainly plastic torches or dive torches as it may not be able to dissapate enough heat.

Special features:-

The LED bulb has polarized contacts with the positive supply to the base (typical standard torch set up), however if the contacts are connected in reverse the LED will not light but no damage will be done and it will work when the polarity is corrected.

Longer battery life results from the circuit built into the unit which completely utilizes the power from the batteries, whilst maintaining constant light output.
