The 1-sol coin is made of nickel brass, weighs 7.32 g, and has a diameter of 25.5 mm. Each coin features the Peruvian coat of arms on one side and an endangered animal on the other side. The animals featured in the set are the Andean spectacled bear, a Tumbes crocodile, an Andean condor, an Andean tapir, a white-winged guan, a jaguar, a Darwin’s Rhea, a yellow-tailed woolly monkey, a giant Titicaca frog, and an Andean mountain cat.
