Like the Batman, Superman, and Superman animated series that preceded it, the Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans animated series spawned a tie-in comic book series from DC Comics. In this case, the Teen Titans look like anime-inspired versions of Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven, and they take on threats like Slade Wilson (aka Deathstroke the Terminator to longtime fans), the Fearsome Five, and Trigon the Terrible. Fun and fast-paced, this series ain’t about your daddy’s angst-ridden Titans of old with their swingin’ Sixties lingo; this is a pure, unadulterated romp that gets more intoxicating with each new issue.
