Motor Saddle for mounting a DCC decoder in an Athearn “Blue Box” locomotive

The MS-Ath provides a flat surface for mounting your DCC decoder on top of an Athearn “Blue Box” locomotive motor.   Fits over motor 0.70in / 17.77mm wide (full-size locomotive motor)

Flat surface = 2.25 x 0.74in / 57.16 x 18.93mm

The original electrical connection clip has to be removed and replaced with soldered-on flexible wire leads to the motor brush clips.

REMEMBER!  The contact on the bottom of the motor (connection to the frame) has to be flattened when you make the connection to the lower motor brush retainer.

NOTE: You will need to measure and calculate the space needed between the motor and the top (inside) of the locomotive shell to install your DCC decoder.
