You are hereby commissioned to attach the goods & chattel Estate of John Holman of Leicester......to the value of two hundred dollars....appear before the court in Middlebury on the last Monday in February 1807....and in said court to answer unto Horatio Westerhause (sp) of Salisbury......

....on the line of Land formerly owned by John Deming now owned by William Kilburn then east 5 degrees & 45 minutes.....in the Stage Road......then south 4 degrees 4 chains and five links.......to a Baywood standing on top of a ledge.............50 maple trees standing....

JOHN DEMING, born 4th May 1762 in Newington, Conn.; died 26 Jul. 1815 in Crown Point, N.Y.; married 28 Oct. 1784 in Kensington, Conn., HANNAH JOHNSON, daughter of Hamlin and Mary (Lawrence) Johnson, born 29 May 1757 in Middletown, Conn.; died 19 Sep. 1841 in Brandon, Vermont.  John Deming was an inhabitant of Canaan, Conn., as early as 1784, and moved from there to Salisbury, Vermont, in 1794, and to Middlebury, Vt., in 1807. He appears also to have lived at one time in Castleton, Vt.
