Vintage Pottery Attributed Hancocks Colander Bowl Green Leaf Majolica Style

An antique/vintage english majolica ceramic colander, possibly dating to/from the late Victorian period, featuring a moulded green leaf design with brown veining, and raised orange-glazed feet.

The bowl has multiple drainage holes, including a central opening, confirming its use as a vegetable or fruit colander. Pieces of this type were used in Victorian kitchens for washing and draining produce and are now highly sought after as decorative or display pottery.

This example is attributed to Hancocks, England, based on the form, and construction. This piece is unmarked, which is typical for utilitarian majolica wares of this period.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• There is surface wear, glaze crazing (underside) and small glaze losses, particularly to raised areas and the rim, consistent with age and use.
  
• Some firing imperfections and glaze pooling present, typical of Victorian majolica.
  

Overall in a good used vintage condition. 

Light surface marks consistent with age and normal use.  

Structure remains sound and displays very well.
