Hamilton 992B Serial C693
Hamilton Watch Co. Grade 992B 21 jewel 16 size open face lever-set pocket watch with very low movement serial number C693. An excellent early example with three-digit movement serial number, fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel "Hamilton Railway Special" marked dial and housed in a yellow gold-filled Hamilton Model 2 bar-over-crown case that appears likely its original. Movement has a striped pattern nickel damaskeen, gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold center wheel, and an Elinvar alloy balance and hairspring. Movement seiral number is C693.
Running and a very nice looking movement overall with excellent color and luster though does have some fine scratches to its train bridge. Dial is beautiful with just a very small flaw to the inner rim of its outer chapter left of the 3 o'clock numeral. Case is excellent with a strong in-hand look and feel. Glass crystal has a small internal edge chip at its left side.
