The Corgi 811 Moon Buggy is one of the most famous (and delightfully strange) James Bond movie tie-ins ever produced. Released in June 1972, it was designed to capitalize on the success of Diamonds Are Forever, which had premiered just six months earlier.
While the film itself featured the buggy for a relatively short (but memorable) chase through the Nevada desert, the Corgi toy became a massive hit, selling nearly 190,000 units in its first year alone.
This item comes in its original box which is in good condition, the buggy within is in very good cosmetic condition throughout.
● When you press a trigger on the side, the roof hatch flips open and a miniature figure of Sean Connery as James Bond pops up.
● As the buggy is pushed along, the red radar scanner on top rotates automatically.
● It features silver "grabber" arms at the front that can be moved manually.
● It features a white and metallic blue body with bright yellow wheels, staying faithful to the "Techtronics" vehicle from the movie.
The real vehicle used in the film was built by Dean Jeffries, a legendary Hollywood car customizer (who also built the Monkeemobile). Unlike the Corgi version, the real one was notoriously unreliable and kept breaking down during the desert filming, forcing the crew to scramble for repairs between takes.
