The base and lid are in excellent shape.  

This air cleaner body was off a 1966 Mustang and other Ford cars.  The 1966 air cleaners had a shorter snorkel due to the change in the shock towers.  

Air cleaner is in good shape overall.   

As this is 50+ years old, there will be some scratches, tiny dents, etc. somewhere on it, but it is not rusted.
