The Azores Dark Fig is an excellent choice for every fig grower. Known for its heavy fruiting of delicious berry tasting figs, it gets high praise for an even bigger and sweeter second crop in the early fall. A beauty to look at with dark purple skin, and deep red interior with amber border.

Very good fig - early, with an intense flavor.  It has a very thick, jam-like consistency of the pulp, not juicy.  I expect, as other have said, that it would be very easy to dry this variety in the sun.

Sao Miguel Roxo is believed to be the correct name for this fig. It was distributed by a grower who did not know the name as Azores Dark.
