Overview
Pyrolox is a naturally mined manganese dioxide (MnO₂) filtration media designed to reduce iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide from well water and other water supplies. Used in water treatment for over 75 years, it works through catalytic oxidation, providing reliable contaminant removal with long media life and no chemical regeneration.

Installation Notes
-
Install Pyrolox in a filtration system designed for catalytic media.
-
Use an appropriate gravel underbed to support the media.
-
Daily backwashing is recommended to maintain performance and ensure proper bed expansion.
-
An oxidant feed, such as chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite, air injection, potassium permanganate, or sodium permanganate, may be used to enhance media performance.
-
Do not use hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant with Pyrolox media.
