This is 1 5/8 inch high by 1 3/8-inch-wide metal jugate watch fob with its 4" x 3/8" leather strap. It's from the 1920 election when republican presidential candidate and U.S. Senator, Warren Harding ran with Massachusetts governor Calvin Coolidge. They soundly beat Ohio newspaper magnate, democrat James Cox and his young running mate, Franklin D. Roosevelt. It's one of the only times in U.S. history that two men from the same state ran against each other for the top job, let alone having the same publishing profession. Harding owed The Marion Star paper and Cox's newspaper syndicate grew into the big Cox Communications empire of modern times.
These came in shell backed varieties as well as this solid back type, and we have the two types for the democrats listed for sale in our eBay store, items 276545339655 and 306421799131.
