RS Guitarworks Vintage Soul Contour Bass 63V -Fed Sonic Blue- #RS1025-9 [Lightweight 4.03kg]

RS Guitarworks has a workshop in Winchester, Kentucky, located in the mideastern United States.

Master builders Roy and Scott say, "We're not a guitar maker, we're a workshop."
The instruments they craft with this belief boast undeniable high quality, earning the trust of musicians worldwide.

Our custom-made Contour Bass 63V -Feded Sonic Blue- is now in stock.

"The blue evokes memories of rock music."

This '63-style vintage bass replica is brought to you by RS Guitarworks, a craftsmanship brand in Kentucky, USA. The Contour Bass 63 brings the essence of the 1963 bass to life in the modern era, but it's more than just a replica; it's a superb instrument crafted with the player in mind.

This custom-made Faded Sonic Blue model exudes a special presence that immediately sets it apart. This finish, carefully painted and aged based on the original color chart, exudes the dignity and realism of a guitar that has been played for decades. The body's fading due to paint burn, weather-checking, and signs of wear on the finish showcase RS's high-level relic craftsmanship.

The Contour Bass 63 begins with selecting the perfect body and neck combination, and features custom pickups, custom CTS pots, and original capacitors, showcasing RS's commitment to sonic exploration.

The pickups are custom-made by Lindy Fralin, an RS original pickup unit, delivering a rich, natural sound without any loss.

Compared to the standard Lindy Fralin pickup, they offer a moderate boost in the low-mid range, delivering a practical yet expressive tone that takes advantage of the alder body's rich range.

From the very first acoustic sound, it has a crisp, open tone, excellent balance in each position, and the wildness you'd expect from a USA-made guitar. Its ultra-practical sound and captivating playing feel combine to create a tone that will reaffirm the joy of playing an instrument.

RS is also known for its exceptional skills in painting and aging.

As a repair workshop for about 30 years, we have been responsible for repairing and restoring many vintage instruments, and our high level of skill has quickly led to an influx of requests.

As word of mouth spread about our workshop, we began receiving many requests from customers asking, "If we can make a guitar look this old with a refinish, surely we can make a new guitar look old?" This led us to start making guitars.

Given the above, RS's ability to achieve such a compelling aging finish is the result of a sensibility backed by their experience repairing and refinishing thousands of vintage guitars. It's a finish that can only be achieved through their intimate understanding of authentic texture.

This particular guitar is no exception, boasting exceptional looks.
We ordered it in our custom Feded Sonic Blue, which evokes a faded sonic blue. RS's craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the subdued blue color to the faithful reproduction of the burnt finish.

This guitar will look forward to aging over time as the player uses it.
