This is a signed studio pottery bowl by Susan Helsten (1942–2019), produced in Carmel, California. Helsten was a long-time member of the Carmel Art Association and is known for her restrained, functional stoneware forms and traditional glaze work.

The bowl measures approximately 10 inches in diameter and features an asymmetrical two-tone glaze, combining a deep iron-brown with a speckled oatmeal white interior.

The bowl is signed on the base, with the signature clearly incised into the clay.

Included with the piece is a hand-carved wooden tripod stand, which elevates the bowl for display. The stand was not originally produced by the artist but has been paired to complement the form and works well for presentation.

Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.

A solid example of California studio pottery, suitable for display as a centerpiece or as part of a studio ceramics collection.
