A short piece of rope (approx. 16cms long, 3cms diameter), mounted on a wooden base with an engraved brass plaque reading "Rope Recovered From The Wreck Of The First Invincible Launched 1744 - Sank 1758". Artifacts, including a length of rope, were recovered from H.M.S. Invincible, and displayed in a touring exhibition "Diving Deep: H.M.S. Invincible 1744" with some small authenticated pieces of the rope have appeared for sale at auction. ***Please note that other than the plaque we have no further provenance.*** Approx. size: overall 20cms x 11cms x 4cms.
