Description: Brilliant novel about a journey from England to Australia on an emigrant ship. Includes several weird elements, including an account on on-board stage hypnosis. A scarce book; many of the major libraries appear to lack a copy.
The first printing of the first edition. Original blue pictorial cloth hardback. Original endpapers. 460 pages, plus 32-page publisher's catalogue, dated September 1903, as called for. Externally in attractive condition with some light fading and bumping (see pictures). Binding sound and square. Internally clean, with toning to leaves (see pictures).
