The Water Valve Assembly is an OEM replacement part compatible with LG refrigerators. The refrigerator water valve assembly is responsible for controlling the flow of water to the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser.

When the ice maker or water dispenser on a refrigerator is activated, the water valve assembly opens up to allow water to flow into the appliance. The valve regulates the amount of water that flows in. The water valve assembly contains a solenoid, which is an electromagnetic device that is responsible for opening and closing the valve. The solenoid is typically controlled by the refrigerator's main control board or a separate dispenser control board.
