Tauchmeister Diver TO146

This is a new, never worn pristine condition Tauchmeister German Diver. Some of the plastics have been removed, (not all) and it does not come with the original Tauchmeister Presentation Case. Rather it will be sent to the purchaser in a one slot Invicta Dive case, (pictured). I only have one of these pieces and it came to me having been used for photographic modelling.

I have a soft spot for Tauchmeister timepieces having several in my collection. They are an unusual, very well finished and a little different in design from the norm. This model is 42mm square with a round lume dial in soft green which measures 31mm dia. Large Arabic numerals and Batton indexes have been finished in black, contrasting starkly with the dial colour. Large black hour and minute hands are in black with the sweep seconds hand in dark red, tipped with white lume. The fourth hand on the dial is finely sculpted in dark red with a white lumed pointer. This fourth hand is for the setting of the GMT providing timekeeping for a second time zone which is a feature of the Swiss Made Ronda Quartz movement.

The unidirectional bezel has a solid rotational click about it with no backlash. Black dive indices have been engraved into the horizontal face of the bezel, with its vertical edge machined knurled for ease of grip when rotating the bezel. Four decorative screws have been placed at the four corners of the square case just outside the bezel. The right and left sides of the case have been finished in cross hatching.

The most notable feature of this timepiece is the large canister crown cover positioned at 3 o’clock. When removed this canister is held to the case via a small chain which is fastened via way of a pinion at the top right of the case. The crown is quite large for this type of design and is easily able to be gripped for time and date setting duties. When in place the canister seals against an “O Ring” positioned at the base of the crown .

The screw down canister and screw on back along with the beautifully finished case contribute to this dive watch attaining 200 metres of water resistance. The genuine Tauchmeister leather strap is 22mm wide and 5mm thick. It is quite supple and has a quality feel to it.

This is an unusual, very well finished Dive watch from a German Manufacturer who I would like to see more of. Timepiece is new with some plastics attached and comes in a One Slot Dive Case. Will be sent free via Express Post within the land of Oz.

I have been fielding enquiries recently in relation to the authenticity of the watches I sell and also customers wanting all plastics removed from the watches when being photographed.

Firstly all my watches are certainly authentic. I do not sell, replica watches all though I do know that replica Invicta's do exist as I have myself unknowingly purchase a couple. My advice is not to buy Invicta watches where the country of origin is China. Having said that both replica's I purchased were from the United States, obviously marketed through Chinese affiliates in that country. Try to buy from reputable sellers.

If I describe a watch as new, then it is new and generally is wrapped in the manufacture's plastics. I do remove and replace some but not all of these plastics for photographic clarity. Most of my customers prefer an unmolested product where plastics are concerned however if you are genuine in your enquiry and prefer that all plastics be removed for photographic purposes then contact me and I will oblige
