A nut or bolt has flat edges and corners. Corners are more easily damaged if they don't provide optimal grip. When developing the METRINCH tool system, Jozef Ruzicka sought to develop sockets and wrenches that would not only have a longer effective lifespan but also ensure minimal damage to the fasteners they are used on. The patented Metrinch Wall Drive profile grips only the fastener's edges, not its corners.
