Description

The Hardy Boys in The House On The Cliff by Franklin W. Dixon with Harriet S. Adams writing this revised edition in 1959.  This is the 2nd book in The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories series.  The original story was written by Leslie McFarlane in 1927.

The storyline includes a haunted old mansion high on the cliffs overlooking Barmet Bay, a smuggling ring, their father goes missing and their investigation takes them through the caves beneath the house. 

There are 180 pages in this 1959 revised edition.  Besides the frontispiece, there are 4 other illustrations throughout the book.  I assume that the artist was Rudy Nappi.  Tan tweed hardcovers with brown multi-scene endpapers that were used between 1959 to 1962.  There is a listing of books ending with the last book being The Mystery Of The Chinese Junk originally written in 1960.  Based on this, I assume this printing was from 1960 to 1962.
