JOSEPH STALIN SIGNED DOCUMENT OF MAY 26, 1945 TO AWARD SOVIET NEWSPAPER


The item up for sale here is the document signed by Joseph STALIN (in blues pencil) and the First Secretatry of Central Committee of VLKSM Nikolay MIKHAILOV. Typewritten on a list of plain paper, the document says the following:

Protocol of the Presidium of the Central Committee #45, paragraph 198 [on the stamp]
as of 26.V.45

To Comrade Stalin J.V.

The Central Committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League (VLKSM) petitions you to award the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" with the Order of the Patriotic War, First Class, in connection with its 20th anniversary.
The draft Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR is enclosed.

Condition - perfect. Please see the scan.

Provenance. The document was obtained in Moscow in 2018 from a collector whose name was mentioned in several publications in press and books. No certificate of authenticity was included with this item, but such certificates were provided for several other historically significant items in his possession. He explained that in Russia, no one certifies documents bearing Stalin's signature, as they must all be kept in state archives. However, Stalin signed extensively throughout his life, so some documents are believed to be held in private collections yet.
