Apple iMac G4 (17-inch, 1GHz) – M8935LL/A – Original Box & Materials – 2003
Includes Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Manuals, Discs & Original Purchase Proof
Up for sale is a rare, collector-grade Apple iMac G4 17-inch, model M8935LL/A, originally purchased on March 19, 2003 from CompUSA (receipt email included). This is the iconic “iLamp” iMac with the floating LCD display and hemisphere base.
This unit is fully functional, includes all manuals, discs, paperwork, and even still has the unopened Apple stickers and iLife software coupons.
Condition
This iMac is over 20 years old, so please expect signs of age. I’ve documented everything clearly:
• Display works, though it has a slight yellowed plastic frame consistent with age
• The articulating arm does not hold intermediate positions well — the internal spring has weakened, so it tends to fall to its lowest position unless set carefully
• Keyboard included; F-keys are sticky (all still register when pressed)
• Mouse included; cable is notably yellowed
• Speakers function correctly
• Everything powers on and boots into Mac OS X Panther (10.3)
Specs
• CPU: 1GHz PowerPC G4
• RAM: 256MB installed (upgradeable to 1GB; not sure if upgraded)
• Storage: 80GB Ultra ATA drive
• Optical: SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
• OS: Mac OS X 10.3 Panther installed
• Model: M8935LL/A
Included Extras
This listing comes with everything it originally shipped with in 2003:

Why This iMac Matters
This is the iMac G4 collectors love — the last “floating display” design and one of Apple’s most iconic machines. Many enthusiasts repurpose these by:
• Installing modern hardware (like a Mac mini) inside the dome
• Converting it into a retro Mac museum display piece
• Restoring the arm mechanism and fully refurbishing the exterior
Whether you’re a collector, a modder, or someone who wants a piece of Apple history, this is a complete, well-preserved example.
Shipping
This will be shipped with extreme care:
• The iMac will remain inside its original Apple retail box
• That box will be placed inside a larger shipping box for protection
• All internal packing materials will remain intact
It’s a large, heavy item, but I’ll ensure it arrives safely.
