PINK FLOYD

“THE FINAL CUT”

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original CBS Records very first STEREO press released by CBS Records, made and distributed in Peru in 1983 by CBS Discos Del Perú S.A. (CBS Records, Perú), licensed from CBS Inc., USA, catalog number S.E. 8592, with hand etched matrix numbers 8592-A in Side 1 and 8592-B 8392-B in Side 2, with traditional orange/black CBS Records labels of the period, with big squared “CBS Columbia” logo at center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“The Final Cut” was originally released in March 1983 and the same year it was released in Perú, with a very thin matte non-gatefold cover. The flipback cover is made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle, with back cover pasted on the top and bottom flaps of front cover. Both front and back covers keep strictly the same original US artwork, with album and song titles written in English only, but with some differences in design. Front cover has the name of the band and album title printed at top right edge and the short strip has a blue color, not violet like in original US issue. In back cover the CBS Records logo and catalog number are at top right corner and at the bottom edge is the information about this is a Peruvian release and extra information, written in Spanish, “Available In Cassett No CSC-5062”. In labels, the album title is written in English only and tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with full credits for Roger Waters as songwriter and producers, with extra information of rights society for each song. It's interesting to notice the error in Matrix number of the Side B, in the deadwax they etched “8392-B” and then scratched it out to write the correct “8592-B”, the number “8392” is the catalog number of a compilation album by Andy Williams, released in Peru in 1976 (!!!). So, here you have the chance to get and own this great album by Pink Floyd, the last one by original Pink Floyd, in this MEGARARE PERUVIAN PRESS, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE MATRIX ERROR and with Spanish-written song titles, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Progressive and Art Rock music and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean and clear, with some wear in all edges, more evident in corners and in the mouth edge, with some creases and evident ring marks, with creases and age browning and typical discoloration of matte covers when not stored properly, but still complete with all seams intact, with a small white sticker (“Sears”) in back cover, at top right corner. The record is in strong EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some very soft scuffs and light hairlines, mostly hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great NM- or NM condition the Side A, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, and in EX or EX+ condition the Side B, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear, a factory micro tear and a very faint blemish. The sound is in strong VG+ or even EX- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and occasional light clicks and pops here and there, more evident in the silent parts, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clean sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, with Side A closer to EX- condition and Side B closer to VG+ condition. Maybe this record, considering the great look of the vinyl, needs a deep ultrasonic cleaning, for sure some of the “noise” is caused by some kind of dust or debris I’ve not could remove. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PERUVIAN PRESS, with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE MATRIX ERROR and with Spanish-written song titles, maybe nor for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure with still a nice cover, with a record with a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 42 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Peruvian record!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Important Update (September 2025)

Due to new restrictions imposed by the USA on parcel services worldwide, Correos Chile has suspended package shipments to the USA. Now, my only option for sending a package from Chile to the USA is the private FedEx service, through Correos Chile. The shipping cost for records is as follows:

GBP55 for weight until 0,5kg

GBP70 for weight 0,5-1kg

I know it’s not a minor difference, but I can’t do anything. So, if you buy any of my records and shipping is to the USA, PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE WITH THE CORRECT VALUE informed.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

SHIPPING COST ISN’T “4” – WAIT FOR MY INVOICE

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

IMPORTANT UPDATE (September 2024)

Because the UK’s tax authority, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC), requires eBay collect VAT information from sellers with UK customers, I’ve been informed that I need to have a “valid UK VAT number on file” to sell to UK customers. As I live in Chile and all my items are shipped from Chile, I don’t have an “UK VAT number”, so I’m sorry to inform that I’M FORCED TO EXCLUDE THE UK FROM MY WORLDWIDE SHIPPING POLICY. If you live in the UK and you’d like to bid/buy some of my records, please contact me, I’m sure we could find some solution.

If you have some doubt or question, feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
