This listing is for a vintage XXD ballast/current-regulator tube with the uncommon brass collar base.

It comes from a lifetime radio/TV repair estate we purchased in full.

The original owner stored thousands of tubes indoors for decades, carefully organized and protected.

We are now sorting and listing the entire collection.

The XXD is an early pre-war ballast tube used in 1930s–early 1940s AC/DC radio sets to regulate heater and line current.

Collectors value these tubes because they are difficult to find and essential for accurate restorations of early radios.

The brass collar and domed top make this a classic display piece in addition to its functional use.
