If you purchase multiple items from Tinman, we will assess the shipping charges based on the weight of the combined items and refund the difference in cost.  An invoice with the corrected shipping charges available upon request. 

This is our latest modified of the original Lionel 110 watt transformer. 
 companies have made for our layouts. We have added some really cool additions to these units:
  • The original cord has been replaced, with a 3 wire cord with a grounding plug. Why? Because the transformers case is metal and like any other appliance or tool that you have the exposed metal should be grounded to stop any possibility of getting a shock. The internal transformer is mounted to the bottom case which is in turn connected to the outside metal case. Safety of our products is very important to us. This also makes phasing multiple transformers a breeze. Consequently please don't even think about cutting the 3rd prong off. .
  • The internal coils are also cleaned and polished.
This unit has a direction and a whistle control, the good news is we have completed the design for a terrific, direction and whistle control that does not degrade transformer power and has dual whistle outputs to offer a positive or negative dc pulse which allows it to run all normal engine whistles, and or bells. The sticker on the side is for wiring to your layout. This was a deluxe transformer in its day and had installed several optional outputs for accessories and lights. You will probably want to use either the D or E terminals for your accessories because they are common to A which is your outside rail connections. Additional information is included with your transformer.

We put a lot of time and effort into these units, and does mean we have to charge more than buying one as is. Obviously we need to charge a little more than other similar units  you may see.

We sell lots of these units, and do not take pictures of each and every transformer we sell. If the case was badly scratched up, we paint them. The front bezel may have some scratches caused by the speed control rubbing on the case. The unit pictured represents  an average cosmetic condition. The original speed control was a little small and sometimes hard to use. So sometimes we change the control to one like the one shown. If you would prefer the original round black one, no problem, just let us know.  prefer the or if the top bezel is scratched, there's not much we can do about that.  This like all our transformers will meet our goal of all our products of  having your great great great grandchildren open a tote of train stuff and it will still work as well as when you put it away.

As with all of our transformers they come with a no BS 2 year warranty.
